Accommodation
At first Right it we feel it is a standard that all young people we support should have a safety net, a place they can call home. All young people will have a fully furnished room with welcome pack to get them started. We are committed to making every house feel like a home, deliberately leaving bedrooms neutral for young people to style them accordingly which encourages inclusion and a sense of belonging during their time with us on their journey to independence.
Accommodation Options
We have more than one option of support because we understand not one shoe fits all.
Shared Ringfenced Accommodation
This is exclusively for care experiences young peoples between 16-17. We work closely with local authorities to match accordingly to new and existing residents. This is to ensure everybody is getting the right level of support they need. Our shared accommodation will be staffed 24/7 which is the perfect transition for care experiences young people stepping down from foster or residential settings.
Solo Accommodation
Unlike shared/communal living, our solo accommodation option while there is still an element of support while this is floating solo offers more autonomy and privacy, allowing individuals to maintain control over their living environment and daily routine.
One of the primary benefits of our solo accommodation is the sense of freedom and independence it provides, individuals have the flexibility to set their own schedules, make decisions about their living space and live according to their preference where appropriate
Health and safety
On a weekly basis we complete our environmental checklist which is a run through of the holistic function of the home where health and safety is concerned. Which will involve fire extinguisher checks, smoke/co2 and emergency light testing, water temperature checks, visual electrical component checks, fire door assessments, and further…. this is completed by the homes staff who are available 24/7
Support
Young people will have access to staff 24/7 with an aim of this gradually reducing in line with progress made in becoming more independent. The support on offer will be reflected in individualised plans with views, wishes, and feelings from those receiving the support we believe young people should have a say in the trajectory of their life and to help this come to fruition a key worker will be specially allocated to each young person.
